Fancy Flowers

Hi Bloggers,
I hope you are all well.
Here is a card I made a while ago for honey doos. It was shown on create and craft last thursday and was a hit with many crafters at shows around the country. Here is how I made it.
The first thing to do was to stamp and cut out the flowers using Honey Doos Fancy Flowers stamp. I coloured them with chameleon pens and then covered with glossy accents. These needed to dry. I then made the base card by embossing the front with Sue Wilsons embossing folder                     . I ran it through my calibur with circle dies to cut the appertures. You need to leave the folder open, place the dies with the cutting edge away from the folder (so as not to damage your folder) then you place your card, then the rubber mat and plate. The result gives an aperture with an embossed edge which adds to the finished look.  I then matted this on to a piece of card which using double sided adhesive film was covered in gilding flakes. (I did cheat a little I only placed the flakes where they were to be seen) I placed the flowers appropriately, stamped the sentiment and Hey Presto finished card.
Take care

Decoupage

Hi fellow bloggers,
The weather has changed here, rain and more rain...but we shouldn't complain the great outdoors does not entice us out so more time to craft!
Well this week I have been busy making cards for Honeydoo's who are on Create and Craft this thursday morning. Please tune in if you have time.
Over the past few weeks I have also been helping with workshops at Oyster stamps and thought I would show you some very simple cards we made a couple of weeks ago. Its always nice to have a quick and easy card on standby, handy for the men too....
Well for the card I used an favorite old die, Fanciful lattice by spellbinders, There are lots of similar dies you could use for this card. Cut out twice and ink the edges with distress ink. Score the top, then glue the top edge to form the base of the card. We then used some Dot and Do decoupage to add as a topper. We then stamped the sentiment and hey presto a quick mans card for our stash.
I hope you like it.

Spellbinders Stepper Card

Hi everyone,
Its a while since I blogged but I thought I should put that right.
I have been very busy with lots of crafty projects as usual, and time seams to fly by!
I hope you are all well and enjoying your summer and the warm weather we have been having.
Over the last few days I have been playing with the new spellbinders dies, making stepper cards. The dies are called Gift of Happiness and Decorated Birthday.
At first I wondered what to do as the cards are a little smaller than my usual cards but I plodded on!
The first card, very simple I used the new Spellbinders holy frame to decorate the card, then the normal matting and layering fetish kicked in and I was off!
